Author and Illustrator Tomie dePoala
by Tommy
From folktales to non-fiction, Tomie dePaola has a book for all readers. He has written more than 200 books. It all started when he was bor September 15, 1934 in Meriden, Connecticut. Tomie dePaola was inspired to write because was an artist and liked kids. Some of his books are Strega Nona, The Popcorn Book, and the Legend of Bluebonnet. Not many authors have written as many boooks as Tomie dePaola. I llike to read non-fictiona and fiction; that's why I like reading his books. My favorite book is the Art Lesson because I like drawing pictures. He is special because he has so many types of stories. His latest book is about Strega Nona and it is a pop-up book. His books are for all ages. He has even won a Caldecott Honor Award and a Newberry Honor Award. The next time you go the library, check-out a Tomie dePaola!
