Children's Book Author Marc Brown
by Maddie
What person do you think of when you picture an ardvark named Arthur? Well it's Marc Brown of course! He is my favorite author. He was born in 1946 in Pennsylvania. He writes the Arthur series. A teacher inspired him to write Arthur Meets the President. His grandma helped him decide that he wanted to write books too. Marc's name was really spelled Mark but he changed it in honor of an artist named Marc Chargrill.
I think he's special because he goes to diffrent schools to get his ideas. He also gets his ideas from going outside.Marc has written more than 25 books. My favorite book written by Marc Brown is called A New Francine. A six-year-old encouraged him to become an illustrator. The Arthur series is so great, they tuned it into a T.V. show. Arthur's Nose was one of the first books in the series, it was published in 1976. My favorite book, A New Francine was published in 1981. He lives in Hingman, Mass. Some other books illustrated by Marc are Wild About Books and Born To Read. From animals to babies, you don't want to miss the exciting books that Marc Brown has written!

We all like the characters from Arthur. You looked soooo cute dressed up as Buster. Your poster was beautiful and your story rocked!
