Have you ever heard of the book Chrysanthemum? That book is the most famous by author Kevin Henkes. Mr. Henkes is not as famous as Dr. Seuss, but his characaters are what makes him special. He was born November 27, 1960 in Racine, Wisconson. He decided to write books because he liked art and writing. Now my author has written more than 30 picture books and several novels too. Some of his books are A Weekend With Wendell, Lily's Purple Purse, and Jessica. He won the Caldecott Award for his book Kitten's First Full Moon in 2005.

I like the read Mr. Henkes books because they are fun and have good characters. I also like the pictures. Kevin Henkes believes we all have stories to tell. I you want to read a good story, check out one of his books.
