Children's Book Author Bill Martin, Jr.

Do you think you can write books with your brother?  My author wrote about 17 books with his brother Bernard who was the illustrator.  Bill Martin Jr. was born March 20, 1916 in Hiawatha, Kansas.  He uses a lot of rhyming words to tell his stories.  Not only do his stories rhyme, but some are non fiction as well as fiction.  The book that I love so much is Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See? I like this book because of all the different animals.  There is another book that you might know, his most famous book, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. 

My author is special because he got Eric Carle started as an illustrator when he asked him to do the pictures for the book Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See?.  I like to read this author's books because they have rhythm and rhyme.  Sadly, he died in 2004.  He will always be remembered each time a child opens one of his books.
