Eric Carle
by Ainsley

Crunch, crunch, crunch! That is the sound of the Very Hungry Caterpillar eating through Eric Carle's books. I love his books too! And so will you!
Eric Carle was born on June 25, 1929 in Syracuse, New York. He grew up in Germany and then moved back to America. Eric Carle's most popular book is the Very Hungry Caterpillar. Eric Carle has written more than 70 books. I have only read 14 of his books so far.
Eric Carle is very unique because he makes his illustrations with tissue paper. That makes his animals have beautiful colors. His art is so famous he has a museum dedicated to his style of art.
Eric Carle decided to write books because he loved illustrating Brown Bear, Brown Bear, the first book he worked on. Eric Carle writes books for very young children, but young or old, Eric Carle's books are great for everyone!
