     When you listen to a story by Mem Fox there seems to be a little bit of magic that shines through. Australian magic!

     Mem Fox was born in Melbourne, Australia in March of 1946. Her parents were missionaries so they moved to Africa.There, she learned to write her letters in the dirt on the ground. When she grew up she wrote the book Hush. She revised it 23 times. The book ended up being called Possum Magic. It was the best selling children's book in Australia. Mem Fox wrote many books, but her favorite is Koala Lou. This book tells about the love of a mother for her daughter.

     Mem Foxes books will not only teach you about Australia but they teach you about life, love, and families.
