Jack Prelutsky
By Naomi
Do you have a stubborn funny bone? Do you think poetry is boring? Are you waiting to be inspired by silly poems? Then I have an author for you!
His name is Jack Prelutsky. He was born September 8, 1940 in Brooklyn, New York. When he was little he didn't like poetry. As he got older he started drawing animal pictures and decided to make a poem to go with each of them. When he tried to get them published, his poems were loved, but his pictures were not. Now he has written books like It's Raining Pigs and Noodles and A Pizza the Size of the Sun.
I think he is special because he write all types of poems. Some of them are very scary and some are really silly. He has something for everyone. He still writes poems today. He lives in Seattle, Washington with his wife. In his house he has a studio where he does his work.
The next time you want to be scared or laugh until your belly hurts pick up a book by Jack Prelutsky!
