JK Rowling

Do you like magic, dragons, wizards, and warlocks? If you do, I bet you know who my author is. It's JK Rowling! She is the author of the famous Harry Potter series.
JK Rowling was born on July 31, 1965 in England. As a child she loved telling stories to her friends. She started writing stories when she was only 6 years old. When she grew up, Rowling went to college and wrote stories in her spare time. She thought of the idea for Harry potter while she was riding a train. Her first idea was to write a story about a boy who was a wizard and didn't know it. She kept working on the story overtime in coffee shops and cafes. It took her many years to finish the first book, "The Sorcerers Stone." When it was done, many people told her it wasn't a good story and they didn't want to publish it. Finally she sold it for $4,000!Now it is very famous.
I like the books because they are interesting and magical. I also like that she uses things from her real life in the books. When she wrote about Harry's parents dying, that was because her mother had died. I am not the only one who likes her books. She is so famous that she has been given many author of the year awards and an Outstanding Achievement award. Her books were even made into a movies!
So the next time you are in the library and you don't know what to get, get one of the coolest, most magical books ever: A Harry Potter book by JK Rowling.
