Laurie Keller

     Do you know who wrote the Scrambled States of America? Laurie Keller did! I like her books because they are interesting. Laurie Keller was born in Muskegon, Michigan. She grew up drawing and she loved art. That is why she decided to make books.

     Sometimes Laurie is an author and an illustrator. Sometimes she illustrates books for other authors. Her first book was Scrambled States of America which she wrote while she was working as a Hallmark Greeting Card illustrator. Now Laurie illustrates and writes full time. My favorite book by Laurie Keller is Arnie the Doughnut. It is the story of a doughnut that does not understand why he must be eaten. It is so funny! Some of her other books are Do Unto Otters, Grampa Gazillion and Open Wide. So far Laurie has written 16 books and she has a new one coming out called Birdy's Smile Book.

     Laurie Keller has a really cool website with games and fun things to do. She has a good sense of humor too! If you want to laugh and learn and laugh a little more...find a Laurie Keller book and bust a gut!
